The Tees Valley Engineering Partnership (TVEP) is offering engineering firms, business leaders and officials within the region, the chance to learn more about the development of the Tees Valley as an area of energy expertise, at a special free event to be held next month.
Powering Ahead 2007, which will be held at Hartlepool Historic Quay on Wednesday, July 4, has been designed to give people an insight into how the Tees Valley is developing as a high quality ‘energy hub,’ positioning the area as pioneer in the energy sector and creating more opportunities for local organisations of all varieties and sizes.
During the special ninety-minute event, representatives from at least four key energy-generation organisations including British Energy, Marine Projects International and Biofuels Corporation, will each deliver a focussed presentation detailing how they are leading the way in the development of new energy-related technologies and of their particular need for local engineering expertise .
Guests will be able to pose questions to each of the expert speakers and share their own experiences and successes, by networking with other members of the audience, including a number of the influential Senior Managers, Directors and engineers that are currently members of the TVEP.
Malcolm Potter, manager of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, said: “Energy use and its affect on the environment is at the top of the political agenda across the globe. With legislation being introduced to cut the UK’s carbon emissions, Tees Valley businesses are getting ready to exploit new market opportunities for the provision of new alternative energy sources. Powering Ahead 2007, will give a real insight into how the local engineering firms in are leading the way in these developments.”
