The primary workscope will involve engineering, installation and trenching of over 200 kilometres of fibre-optic LoFS cable in the Ekofisk field in the North Sea. The contract has an overall value of no less than £16 million.
* A subsea construction project offshore Egypt for Petrobel in the North Bardawil Field, which is scheduled to commence in May 2009. The workscope will involve subsea construction, umbilical lay and trenching activities including installation of a PLEM (Pipeline End Manifold), two protection structures and pipeline spools (fixed pipes between structures subsea). Hydraulic and Electrical flying leads and umbilicals will also be installed across the field. In addition all the relevant surveys, metrology and pre-commissioning testing will be undertaken, as well as 18km of trenching to bury the umbilical in the seabed utilising UT-1, the world’s most powerful jetting trencher with more than 2MW of power, onboard the Volantis multi-role construction vessel. The contract has an overall value of £21 million.
* Two newly awarded projects, in addition to an extension on an existing workscope for China Offshore Oilfield Engineering Company, through Bluewhale Offshore Engineering Technology. The new projects include ploughing work on the LeDong project, where the APP plough will provide trenching of a 24” diameter export pipeline and a second project is for the installation and construction support, which includes the mobilisation of the Atlantic Challenger from the Gulf of Mexico to China. An existing contract was extended, under which CTC shall complete a workscope including, but not limited to, diving support work, installation, trenching and burial as well as riser installation services in the Huizhou field. These projects represent over £30 million in value.

This project is responsible for the biggest mobilisation ever on the Responder vessel having installed a 300m rated 9 man SAT system, CMROV3 jet trencher and 3 large offshore installation reels. The project is valued at over £4 million.
* The first contract in the offshore wind farm industry for E-ON Climate and Renewables UK. The contract is for the lay, installation and burial of seventeen subsea power cable arrays linking wind turbine foundations at the Robin Rigg Offshore Wind Farm in the Solway Firth.
* A contract award for installation of telecommunication cables commencing in 2010.
Daryl Lynch, Managing Director of CTC Marine Projects commented, "These contract awards show the strength of our subsea services and subsea protection businesses. We continue to win contract awards directly or indirectly for national oil and renewable companies in the international arena, with the contracts noted above reflecting our international growth in critical regions such as Australia, China and Egypt. Furthermore these contract awards reflect our ability to perform work scopes ranging from trenching to more comprehensive subsea protection services and additional subsea services outside of CTC's original home market in the North Sea.”
