WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS -

31-07-2007

Members of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership (TVEP) have been reaping the substantial networking benefits of the collaborative organisation, by forming and developing business relationships and partnerships with one another.

Originally established almost five years ago, the TVEP was initially designed to offer the region’s engineering organisations and related support companies, a platform, from which they could work together to move the industry forward. Through the use of forums and regular communications, members were to be able to explore common concerns, pool their expertise and instigate new and practical initiatives to ensure the sector remains profitable and competitive.

Though these original objectives still remain in place and are among the core values of the Partnership, TVEP members have also enjoyed additional benefits, namely the unique opportunity to interact with other influential organisations and in many cases, secure additional business from within the region, throughout the U.K. and overseas.

One member company that has benefited from this development is the International Project Management and Specialist Technical Recruitment and Employment Company, Wolviston Management Services (WMS), whose Managing Director Robin Davison also acts as the TVEP Marketing Group Chairman.

Over the last 12 months alone WMS has secured new temporary supply and permanent personnel placement contracts with more than ten of its fellow TVEP members including well-known firms Balfour Beatty Management, Day and Zimmerman, Fabricom, Hertel and RBC Blackett & Charlton..

Similarly, after taking TVEP up on its offer to publicise the achievements of their members, Corus Northern Engineering Services (CNES) received a call from American firm, International Marketing Consultants, who have provided them with a number of fruitful sales leads which came as a direct result of their story appearing in the media as a TVEP news release.

TVEP Marketing Group Manager and Wolviston Management Services’ Managing Director, Robin Davison, said: “The unique networking opportunities offered by the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership are making a real difference to the order books of many companies here in the North-East, not just because members are giving each other business, but also because of the word of mouth and promotional prospects of the Partnership that are working in their favour.”

“The tangible success of the TVEP can therefore be visibly demonstrated to all and we look forward to continuing the achievements and development of the TVEP over the next few years. To paraphrase the immortal words of the Beatles, we get by with a little help from our friends.
