This deal, for an undisclosed sum, is the beginning of further strategic developments for the Stockton-based Wolviston Group which will enhance their U.K and global capabilities and increase their market share in the recruitment industry.

All staff at Manning, based at the Thornaby on Tees Offices are being retained and the strategy is to further develop the business and recruit additional personnel.

The Wolviston Group is in discussions with Tees Valley Regeneration and regional development agency One North East to secure support for the group’s expansion plans within the Tees Valley which could involve the company’s operations being relocated to one site with further employment opportunities, Wolviston, who as an international business have contracts in locations including Aberdeen, Holland, Gabon, Libya and Sakhalin Island, contributes substantially to the Tees Valley’s economic well-being and GDP.

Robin Davison, the Group Managing Director, said: “Whilst we currently have Wolviston Management Services Ltd and Wolviston Training Resource within our Group, we are delighted to announce the purchase of Manning Limited, which is well-known within the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industry.

“This augments our current group capabilities with Manning’s Overhaul and Shutdown expertise and recruitment for the Offshore and Automotive industries and gives us even firmer foundations to further develop the Group and grow the business.”

Group Member Company Wolviston Management Services, of Yarm Lane, Stockton was formed in 1981and recruits and supplies over 1000 consultants and engineers for all disciplines of technical and commercial personnel and is in the top 250 businesses quoted within the North East and top 100 Agencies quoted within the U.K.

Manning, of Redheugh House, Thornaby, was established in 1983 from an engineering background with the founders being chartered engineers.
