FABRICOM GAIN MULTI-MILLION COSTAIN OIL GAS AND PROCESS CONTRACTS

Fabricom Contracting Limited, the multi disciplined national mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and construction organisation, are pleased to announce that they have secured the contract from Costain Oil, Gas and Process Ltd for the Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation package of work for the VOC Recovery Project Seal Sands, Teesside.

Fabricom, a Suez Energy Services Company, have been entrusted with the total Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation scope of work which includes demolition of jetty-mounted structures, civil and structural construction activities, fabrication and installation of E&I and pipework systems and installation of associated equipment.

The aim of the project it to provide a safe and efficient solution for the abatement of volatile organic compound vapours produced by oil tankers during the crude oil loading process.  When completed, the project will significantly reduce these emissions for all tankers calling at the terminal.

The securing of this multi-million pound contract is great news for Fabricom Contracting Ltd as it comes only a few months after securing 2 other major contracts associated with the VOC project – namely the provision of four pre-assembled units for Costain Oil, Gas and Process Ltd and fabrication and assembly of the Vapor Recovery Unit for John Zink LLC.

Fabricom have facilities in the East, North East and North West of the UK.  To eliminate works on site, prefabrication of pipework and steelwork are to be undertaken at the East’s Immingham facility.

This is a high profile project which will strengthen the relationship between the two companies and will require close co-operation from all parties to ensure that the October 2007 deadline is achieved.

The award of this contract highlights the continued growth of the relationship between Fabricom Contracting Ltd Costain Oil Gas and Process Limited.  All three contracts were won by extremely competitive prices backed up by Fabricom’s successes on various projects, showing how important previously successfully completed projects are to winning the next.

The award of such a contract re-enforces Fabricom’s commitment to the continued development of its UK activities and will provide various employment opportunities.
