The Tees Valley Engineering Partnership has appointed North-East student Seline Shaw to the newly created role of Marketing Assistant.

Seline, who is currently on a placement year from Northumbria University, will work alongside the TVEP’s manager, Malcolm Potter, to raise awareness of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership and promote the advantages of becoming a member.

The Tees Valley Engineering Partnership has a growing membership of more than 30 engineering companies, who are currently working collaboratively to promote the region as an area of world-class engineering capability.

Marketing management student, Seline, will now devise a long-term marketing strategy for the partnership and take a leading role in harvesting a pro-active and dynamic website, which will keep members informed and help drive the objectives of the partnership forward.

Malcolm Potter, Manager of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, said: “By promoting the world-class capabilities of Tees Valley engineers, we hope to bring an additional £2.5 million of revenue into the sector within the next ten months. With a dedicated marketing assistant on-board, the TVEP can now be even more responsive and efficient in working towards this goal.”

Seline Shaw, said: “The engineering industry in the North East is currently experiencing a period of significant development and we need to ensure that the high level of skills and capabilities that are evident in the region, remain highly visible in the face of growing competition from abroad.

“My aim is to ensure that the world-class capabilities of Teesside’s engineers are marketed collectively and that local companies are represented locally, nationally and on an international scale.”
