TTE OPEN THE DOOR TO REWARDING CAREERS WITH NEW YEAR OPEN EVENTS
09-01-2007
Tees Valley young people set to leave school this summer can learn more about a prosperous career in the engineering and process industries with three special open days at The TTE Technical Training Group.
The events on Thursday January 25, Wednesday January 31 and Friday February 9, will provide school leavers with a detailed introduction to a range of apprenticeship programmes including the Student Engineering Programme and the respected Tees Valley Production Technician studentship.
The events, running from 1pm to 2.30pm and 2.30pm to 4pm at TTE’s training centre at Edison House, South Bank, Middlesbrough, include an engineering briefing, which outlines the range of career options and progression opportunities available to students.
There will also be a chance to speak directly to members of TTE staff and learn from people with first-hand experience about the fulfilling and rewarding aspects a career in local, national and international industry can offer. Visiting parents, guardians and young people will also be given a tour of TTE’s fully-equipped workshops and training facilities.
As well as delivering comprehensive practical experience, the two-year engineering/processing course gives young engineers the chance to gain a variety of qualifications, including an NVQ Level 2 in Engineering and a City and Guilds in Engineering and Plant Processes.
Keith Leslie, TTE Apprenticeship Business Director, said: “There is a huge amount of talent amongst young people in the Tees Valley area and these open events help us to uncover future generations of engineers.
“They are also an ideal opportunity for school and college leavers to learn more about the value of vocational study and discuss any worries they may have with experienced professionals.”
