TVEP appoints new CEO

Mick Thurlbeck, who has three decades’ experience from business director to vice-president level in the oil and gas and property development sectors, is the new head of the organisation.
Prior to his appointment he was executive director of CII, which has transformed a dilapidated snooker club into the £1.5m Argent Business and Conference Centre in the Sunniside area of Sunderland, as part of a multi-million pound city centre regeneration.
Mick has also worked for industrial giant Kvaerner Oil and Gas, rising from Project Engineers to Vice President Business Improvement.
He is well-known and respected in business circles as an excecutive board member of the North East Chamber of Commerce and its Sunderland committee chairman, a City of Sunderland Strategic Partnership Board Member and a City of Sunderland Ambassador.
Mick, who has a Masters degree in Quality Management, said: "Iam looking forward to driving TVEP's business plans forward.
"My focus will be on making sure TVEP helps its members secure as many supply chain opportunities as possible and encouraging companies to work collaboratively both on a business to business basis and in partnership with the education sector in the Tees Valley."
