24-06-2006

Contacts, nurtured within the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership have resulted inan exciting business opportunity for a local company.

Wolviston Management Services has acquired YOH UK Staffing Solutions, part of the America-based YOH group, which provides specialised staffing services for knowledge and technology companies worldwide.

YOH’s UK recruitment and employment activities, which currently amount to a turnover of more than £3.5million per annum, will now operate from Wolviston Management Services’ head-office in Stockton-on-Tees.

As a specialist recruitment agency, Wolviston Management Services has a long history as a supplier, consultant and contractor to a large number of major oil and gas companies in the UK and overseas, providing expert and reliable manpower services for an array of high-profile clients, including Shell, Day and Zimmerman, DuPont and Huntsman.

The recent acquisition will allow the company and its parent organisation, the Wolviston Group, to expand into a number of new industries and generate more business in indigenous market sectors, including nuclear power and healthcare.

The company attributes much of its acquisition success to its membership of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, which works in collaboration with its members to promote engineering excellence and ensure the sector remains competitive and profitable.

Robin Davison, Managing Director of the Wolviston Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of YOH UK Staffing Solutions Ltd, which will help to enhance and expand the services that we currently provide.

“The endeavours of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership and the active interface between its members and the Executive Board, has played a huge part in the process and has given us a lot of support.

“It is through similar acquisitions, strategic improvements, and continued support from our customers and the TVEP, that we will be able to move the business forward.”

Malcolm Potter, Manager of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, said: “This is great news for the Wolviston Group, for the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, and for the region as a whole.

“Everyone involved with the TVEP is now looking forward to helping develop further business opportunities for our members and we are striving to enhance the engineering reputation of the Tees Valley in order to attract new business into the area.

“The Board wishes Wolviston Management Services every success with their new acquisition and long may the business continue to grow.”
